Troubleshooting a Stuck GPU Connector: My Recent Experience
Hello, fellow tech enthusiasts!
I wanted to share an unfortunate incident that recently occurred with my 4000 series graphics card, which has served me well for over a year. As I was gearing up to sell it and make an upgrade to the anticipated 5090 series, I encountered an unexpected hurdle.
A few weeks ago, I performed a routine check on the GPU’s power connector to ensure everything was in good order and free from any signs of melting issues. Thankfully, it looked fine at the time. However, a few days later, I ran into a frustrating dilemma: the connector became stuck in place, and no matter how carefully I attempted to remove it—be it gentle pulling or subtle wiggling—it refused to budge.
This has left me uncertain about how to proceed, as I don’t want to risk damaging either the card or my motherboard. I’m reaching out to the community for advice. Have any of you faced a similar issue? What are some safe methods to try in order to free the connector without causing harm? Your insights and recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance for your help!
