Troubleshooting Screen Issues on a 2020 M1 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar
Hello, fellow tech enthusiasts!
Today, I wanted to share my ongoing challenges with my 2020 M1 MacBook Pro, which features the Touch Bar. Despite replacing the display, I continue to encounter frustrating screen problems. I’m reaching out to the community in hopes of finding some insights or solutions.
Here’s a breakdown of what I’ve done to address the issue thus far:
- Replaced the Display: I installed a brand-new screen, thinking it would resolve the problem.
- Reset System Settings: I completed both the NVRAM/PRAM reset and the System Management Controller (SMC) reset, which are usually effective in troubleshooting display issues.
- Inspected Internal Connections: I meticulously checked all internal connections, paying particular attention to the display cable connection.
Current Issue:
Unfortunately, despite these efforts, I’m still confronted with the same display problems:
– Both vertical and horizontal lines persist on the screen, even after the new panel installation.
– The good news is that my external monitor functions without any issues, leading me to believe that the GPU is not the source of the problem.
– This display anomaly is consistent; it occurs across multiple reboots and remains after performing the NVRAM/PRAM reset.
If anyone has experienced similar issues or has suggestions for further troubleshooting steps, I would greatly appreciate your input! Let’s work together to crack this conundrum. Thank you in advance for any help!
