Troubleshooting Erratic Battery Indicator Flashes on Your Laptop
Today, I’ve encountered an unusual issue with my laptop that I hope some of you can assist me with. After connecting my Acer Nitro AN515-43 to the charger, I noticed that the battery indicator light began to blink erratically. This behavior is definitely out of the ordinary, and it’s left me puzzled about what could be causing it.
For context, my laptop is running Fedora 42 and is equipped with 8GB of RAM, a 128 GB SSD, and a GTX 1650 graphics card. If you’ve had a similar experience or have any insights on what might be happening, I’d greatly appreciate your input.
I’ve created a quick video demonstration to illustrate the problem, which you can view here.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

Erratic blinking of the battery LED on your Acer Nitro AN515-43 can be caused by several factors, including issues with the battery health, charging port, or firmware/battery calibration. Since your system is running Fedora 42, you can perform some diagnostic steps to narrow down the problem:
If the battery capacity shows a low percentage or the status indicates ‘Unknown’ or ‘Not Present,’ the battery might be failing and may need replacement.
