A Call for Professionalism in Sales Practices
In the world of sales and client relations, a certain level of professionalism and respect is expected. Unfortunately, my recent experience with BeyondTrust has highlighted a troubling disregard for these basic principles.
While engaging with their representatives, I made it clear that the product they were promoting did not align with our team’s needs. This straightforward communication, intended as a part of our professional dialogue, was met with an unexpected response: BeyondTrust chose to escalate the situation by contacting my supervisor. This action, rather than fostering a constructive conversation, felt intrusive and undermined my position.
In any business interaction, maintaining respect for boundaries is essential. Sales professionals should carefully consider their approach and understand that outright disregard for an employee’s input is counterproductive. It can lead to frustration and a breakdown in trust, which ultimately reflects poorly on their organization.
To any sales teams out there, I urge you to think twice before bypassing established communication channels. Rather than pursuing aggressive tactics, aim to foster relationships based on mutual respect and understanding.
