Certainly! Here’s version 21 of the rewritten blog post title: “Meet Nick Percoco, Kraken’s CSO, founder of Trustwave’s SpiderLabs, and organizer of Chicago’s THOTCON hacker event. Feel free to ask me anything related to crypto security breaches, hacking incidents, cybersecurity advice, and investigative techniques.”

Meet Nick Percoco: A Veteran in Cybersecurity Ready to Share His Expertise

Hello, readers!

I’m Nick Percoco, currently serving as the Chief Security Officer at Kraken, a leading global platform for digital currency exchange. With over 25 years in the fields of security and technology, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience that I’m excited to share with you today.

Before my journey at Kraken, I held key roles in various influential organizations, including Chief Security Officer at Uptake, an industrial AI firm, and Vice President of Global Services at Rapid7, a comprehensive cybersecurity service provider. I have had the privilege of presenting my insights on topics such as security breaches, malware defense, mobile security, and emerging InfoSec trends at premier conferences like Black Hat, DEF CON, and OWASP. Additionally, I’ve shared my expertise with esteemed entities such as the Department of Homeland Security, US-CERT, Interpol, and the United States Secret Service.

My passion for technology ignited at a young age—by the age of seven in the early 1980s, I was coding on a Timex Sinclair 1000. Throughout the late 80s and early 90s, I immersed myself in the local hacker culture, connecting through BBSs with a Commodore 64, before moving on to an Intel 386 PC equipped with Linux.

I’ve been deeply embedded in the Chicago hacker community for decades, where I founded the THOTCON conference. We’re gearing up for our 12th event in 2023, fostering discussions and knowledge sharing among cybersecurity enthusiasts and professionals. My experience includes investigating some of the largest data breaches in history, and in recent years, I’ve focused on strengthening Kraken’s defenses against cyber threats.

I’m here to engage with you, answer questions about cryptocurrency hacks, security best practices, and the broader landscape of cybersecurity. Don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m looking forward to sharing my insights and experiences with all of you!

Thank you for your interest, and let’s dive into your questions!

Stay tuned, as I’ll be checking in regularly to respond to your queries.
