The Benefits of Using LAN for Gaming: Addressing Landlord Concerns
As a passionate gamer, I believe that a smooth and reliable internet connection can significantly enhance the gaming experience. That’s why I’ve opted to connect my gaming setup directly using a LAN (Local Area Network) cable. Many fellow gamers can attest to the benefits of this wired connection—it tends to deliver superior speed and stability compared to standard Wi-Fi.
Recently, I encountered an unexpected challenge with my landlord. They expressed concerns that connecting my device via LAN interferes with their Wi-Fi signal. This has raised a few questions in my mind, especially since I did some research before making this switch.
Upon consulting with my internet service provider, I discovered that using a LAN connection can actually optimize Wi-Fi performance by alleviating the burden on the wireless network. When the LAN is engaged, it reduces the amount of bandwidth consumed on the Wi-Fi, potentially improving connectivity for everyone on the same network.
Despite the technical evidence supporting my decision, my landlord remains apprehensive, suggesting that plugging in the LAN disrupts their access to Wi-Fi entirely. This misunderstanding needs to be addressed, as it compromises my ability to enjoy a seamless gaming experience.
In moving forward, I plan to have an open conversation with my landlord to clarify the benefits of LAN and explore potential solutions that can accommodate both my gaming needs and their internet usage. Effective communication about technology impacts can bridge the gap between differing perspectives, ensuring everyone stays connected.
