Tackling Mouse Lag Issues: My Journey to a Smoother Experience
After countless hours of troubleshooting my new P51 Thinkpad, I discovered that disabling Cortana significantly reduced my mouse lag by 75%. Yet, I’m left pondering how to resolve the remaining 25% of these frustrating performance issues.
For over 50 hours, I have been diligently attempting to enhance the operation of my computer, primarily focusing on alleviating persistent mouse lag while using Flash-generated slides in Chrome—a critical task for my daily work. Despite my efforts, including reinstalling and updating all drivers and applications, as well as performing a full system restore, the mouse stuttering persists.
The most frustrating aspect is that my mouse exhibits stuttering every 3 to 5 seconds when interacting with these slides. In discussions with fellow users, I’ve heard that Cortana can contribute to mouse lag, so after removing it from my system, I experienced a noticeable improvement. However, the issue remains unresolved, and I’m eager for additional solutions.
Interestingly, I’ve observed that minimizing the window or scaling down the slides temporarily alleviates the lag, but this workaround isn’t sustainable in the long run, as I require a clear view of my work.
I’m reaching out to the community for further suggestions and insights.
Update: I appreciate all the feedback received so far! I have implemented many of the proposed solutions, yet none have entirely eradicated the lag. It’s important to note that my mouse operates smoothly outside of the Flash slides; the stuttering only occurs once I hover over the slides themselves. If anyone has further recommendations or tricks to share, they would be immensely helpful!
