Having a Conversation with My VP of Global Services and Catching Them Speak Honestly

Transparency in Talent Acquisition: A Disconcerting Trend

During a recent conversation with my Vice President of Global Services, I was struck by a candid statement that shed light on some unsettling practices in the talent acquisition landscape. It seems that the current strategy goes beyond merely seeking the most cost-effective labor to fill vacant positions. There’s an alarming focus on identifying countries with the most lenient labor protections.

This approach raises significant concerns regarding team morale and overall workplace culture. The implications of prioritizing cost savings over ethical hiring practices could be detrimental, both to employee satisfaction and the company’s reputation.

I can’t help but wonder if others are experiencing similar discussions within their organizations. As for me, I’m relieved to announce that this is my final week with my current employer. I’m looking forward to the next chapter and optimistic about pursuing opportunities that align more closely with values of integrity and respect for workers.

If you’ve encountered similar dialogues in your workplace, I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences. How do we advocate for more ethical practices in talent acquisition?
