Variant 10: “Understanding TrojanDownloader:HTML/Adodb.gen!A and Its Impact on Discord Cache – Guidance on Next Steps”

Understanding TrojanDownloader:HTML/Adodb.gen!A: How to Address the Threat

Recently, I encountered an unsettling notification from Windows Defender regarding a potential malware threat named TrojanDownloader:HTML/Adodb.gen!A. This issue arose when the antivirus software detected this malware within the cache files associated with Discord. Initially, upon discovering the threat, I took immediate action and found that it had been flagged twice, leading to its quarantine.

Thinking I was taking the right steps, I opted to remove the quarantined files, assuming this would completely eliminate the threat. However, I recently booted up my computer with a growing sense of unease, and to my dismay, Windows Defender detected the same Trojan once again, this time embedded in two additional Discord cache files.

At this point, I’m grappling with uncertainty. It seems I may have inadvertently allowed the malware to persist, leading me to question what my next steps should be. As of now, the suspicious files remain quarantined, which gives me a slight sense of security, but I remain unsure about the underlying cause of this issue.

If anyone has experience dealing with this particular type of malware or can offer guidance on how to remove it effectively, I would greatly appreciate your insights. I’m also more than willing to share additional details in the comments section if needed. Thank you for any help you can provide!
