However, as someone with nearly a decade of experience in IT, I can’t help but feel that, for many organizations, cybersecurity is more of a façade than a genuine priority. It often appears that while companies publicly tout their dedication to protecting sensitive data, their actions tell a different story.

Throughout my career, which spans several non-Fortune 500 companies, I’ve encountered numerous instances that highlight a troubling disconnect between stated intentions and actual practices regarding security. Currently, I find myself in a position that seems to exist primarily for the sake of compliance rather than true security enhancement.
