Addressing TrojanDownloader:HTML/Adodb.gen!A Affecting Discord Cache Files
Recently, I encountered an unsettling situation with my computer security. While using Windows Defender, I received notifications about a potential threat labeled as TrojanDownloader:HTML/Adodb.gen!A. This malware was detected in my Discord cache files, raising concerns about the integrity of my system.
Upon receiving these alerts, I took immediate action to eliminate the threat. The malware had been identified twice in separate cache files and was subsequently quarantined by the antivirus software. Believing that removing these files would permanently eradicate the threat, I clicked to delete them. However, I’m now wondering if I merely reactivated the Trojan instead of completely eliminating it.
Fast forward to today: after a hesitant decision to restart my computer, I ran another round of scans. To my dismay, Windows Defender flagged the same Trojan again, this time in two new Discord cache files. This has left me feeling uncertain about the persistence of this malware and the steps I should take moving forward.
At present, the suspicious files remain in quarantine, but Iβm unsure of the best course of action from here. If you’re knowledgeable in dealing with such issues or have experienced something similar, I would greatly appreciate your advice. Additionally, I’m happy to provide more details in the comments if needed. Your insights would be incredibly helpful as I navigate this troubling situation. Thank you for your assistance!
