Understanding the “Trojan:Script/Wacatac.H!ml” Threat Linked to Twitch
In recent discussions on various platforms, many users have reported encountering the “Trojan:Script/Wacatac.H!ml” warning, particularly those who frequent Twitch. If you’ve experienced something similar, you’re not alone.
After conducting a thorough investigation, it appears this issue may be connected to Twitch itself. Following my initial detection, I took the precautionary step of quarantining the suspicious file and performed several scans on my system. To my relief, nothing significant flagged during those scans. However, after re-launching Twitch and streaming content for a few minutes, the alert resurfaced upon conducting another system scan.
Curiously, the detection did not reappear when I restarted my computer without accessing Twitch. This seemed to indicate that the problem was linked to my activities on the platform.
While I may not possess extensive technical expertise, my limited research and testing have led me to suspect that this could potentially be a false positive.
