Troubleshooting a Mysterious Computer Glitch: My Journey to Resolution
In the realm of technology, unexpected glitches can often leave users feeling frustrated and at a loss. I recently experienced a perplexing issue with my computer that rendered it nearly unusable, and I’d like to share my journey in hopes of helping others who may encounter a similar conundrum.
The Trouble Begins
It all started yesterday when my computer began to exhibit strange behavior. Out of nowhere, it started copying and pasting content that I had not selected. At first, I thought it might just be a temporary hiccup. However, after multiple restarts, the issue persisted, resurfacing within moments after booting. I attempted to troubleshoot the problem by resetting my computer and uninstalling drivers, but no solution was apparent.
To rule out hardware malfunctions, I unplugged my keyboard and connected a different one—yet, the annoying glitch continued unabated.
Unraveling the Mystery
I quickly realized that the situation escalated after downloading Radiant Viewer, a medical application for viewing DICOM files, and using a USB drive containing files from my professor. Interestingly, after experiencing the issues on my desktop, I found that my laptop—upon downloading the same files—also exhibited the same odd behavior. Frustration was setting in; I felt as though I was losing grip on my computer’s functionality.
I decided to document the occurrences on video, capturing the strange events as they unfolded, to share with others who might have insights or solutions.
Diagnosis and Solutions Attempted
After thorough experimentation, it became apparent that the problematic USB drive was the root of my issues. I conducted a complete reset and formatted my disk, which led to a brief respite from the glitches. However, plugging in the USB drive reinstated the chaos.
Determined to regain control, I attempted a factory reset of my system. For a fleeting hour, everything seemed fine until the glitches resurfaced once again. My next step was a fresh installation of Windows, but to my dismay, that did not resolve the situation. Almost reluctantly, I came to accept that a clean wipe might be necessary.
A Surprising Twist
In a bizarre turn of events, I attempted to use an old laptop for some schoolwork, only to find that it, too, succumbed to the same glitches—though I hadn’t even connected the unreliable USB drive. Upon further investigation, I discovered a link to my mouse;
