Troubleshooting a Non-Responsive Nvidia 3060 GPU: A Guide for IT Professionals
As technology enthusiasts, we’ve all been there—dealing with a frustrating tech issue that simply refuses to be resolved. Allow me to share my current predicament in hopes of crowd-sourcing some insights from fellow tech aficionados.
Recently, I acquired a second-hand laptop equipped with an Nvidia 3060 GPU from my workplace. Initially, the graphics card performed flawlessly for about two weeks. However, it suddenly ceased to function just a couple of days ago.
In an effort to remedy the situation, I’ve explored multiple avenues of troubleshooting. I began by reinstalling the latest drivers and updating the BIOS. After that, I attempted to reverse both BIOS and Windows updates, and even uninstalled the drivers to revert to older versions of the graphics drivers. To no avail, I went ahead and reinstalled Windows, considering a rollback to a previous version as well.
While the device manager recognizes the GPU without any issues, it remains unacknowledged by any other applications. This leads me to wonder: has anyone encountered a similar problem? If so, I would greatly appreciate any advice or suggestions on how to resolve this matter. Your expertise might just help me get this system up and running again!
