Facing a Challenge: An IT Expert’s Battle to Resolve this Problem

Troubleshooting a Non-Responsive Nvidia 3060 GPU: Insights from an IT Professional

As an IT professional, encountering a sudden technical issue can be quite frustrating, especially when you’re left scratching your head for answers. Recently, I faced a dilemma with a used laptop I purchased from my company, equipped with an Nvidia 3060 GPU that had performed flawlessly for the first two weeks. Unfortunately, everything changed just a few days ago when the graphics card seemingly ceased to function.

In my quest to resolve this problem, I explored several troubleshooting methods. Initially, I reinstalled the graphics drivers in hopes of restoring functionality, followed by updating the BIOS. However, I decided to take a step further by rolling back both BIOS and Windows updates to see if that might help. Even after uninstalling the drivers and reverting to previous versions, the issue persisted.

To ensure I had exhausted all possibilities, I opted for a complete Windows reinstallation, reverting to an earlier version that had worked well before. While the GPU shows up correctly in Device Manager, it remains unrecognized by any other software, leaving me searching for answers.

If you’ve experienced similar issues or have any insights on how to regain functionality from a non-responsive GPU, I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. Your expertise could help shed light on this perplexing situation, as I work to troubleshoot this frustrating setback. Thank you in advance for your assistance!
