Troubleshooting a Nvidia 3060 GPU Issue on a Used Laptop: Seeking Solutions
Hello everyone,
As an IT professional, I find myself in an unusual predicament that has left me scratching my head. Recently, I purchased a used laptop from my company to harness its potential for my projects. This particular machine is equipped with an Nvidia 3060 notebook GPU, which was functioning perfectly for the past two weeks. Unfortunately, just a few days ago, the GPU ceased to work.
In an attempt to resolve the situation, I have taken several steps: I reinstalled the drivers and performed BIOS updates. I also rolled back to previous BIOS and Windows updates in hopes of restoring normalcy. I even uninstalled the drivers and reverted to earlier versions. To top it off, I went so far as to reinstall Windows entirely, yet I also considered reverting to an older version of the operating system.
The curious part is that while the GPU is visible in the Device Manager, it seems that no other software can recognize it. This has left me baffled, and I’m reaching out to see if anyone in the community has encountered a similar issue or can offer potential solutions.
If you have any insights or experiences with troubleshooting GPU recognition problems, your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to any advice or recommendations you might have!
