Feeling Stuck: An IT Professional’s Frustration in Solving This Issue

Troubleshooting a Mysterious GPU Issue: Seeking Help for My Nvidia 3060

As an IT professional, I usually feel confident tackling tech-related challenges, but recently, I found myself in a bit of a predicament. I purchased a second-hand laptop from my company that features an Nvidia 3060 notebook GPU, and for the first couple of weeks, everything ran smoothly. However, just a few days ago, I encountered a significant setback: the graphics card stopped functioning.

In my quest for a solution, I’ve methodically attempted a variety of troubleshooting steps, which include:

  • Reinstalling the GPU drivers.
  • Updating the BIOS.
  • Reverting both BIOS and Windows updates.
  • Uninstalling the drivers and attempting to restore to older versions.
  • Performing a complete Windows reinstallation and downgrading to a previous version.

Despite these efforts, the device manager acknowledges the presence of the graphics card, yet it remains unrecognized by any applications I attempt to use.

I’m reaching out to the community for insights or suggestions on what my next steps should be. Has anyone else faced a similar challenge with their Nvidia graphics card? Your expertise could make all the difference in resolving this issue!
