Unexpected Installers on My New Work Laptop: Should I Be Concerned?
I recently received a Lenovo E490 laptop from my employer, which came pre-installed with Windows 10. As part of the setup process, all the data from my previous computer was transferred to this new machine. While I was excited to start working on my new device, I encountered a puzzling situation that left me a bit uneasy.
After setting up Outlook, I decided to restart the laptop. Upon logging back in, I was greeted with a series of strange installer windows appearing on my screen. To be honest, it was a bit alarming, especially since I suspect that my old device may have had some malware that could potentially carry over to this new one.
Curious about what these installers were, I attempted to search online for answers using the installation keywords that appeared, such as “petiolule” and “ichor.” Unfortunately, my efforts were met with frustration, as I found no valuable information or guidance regarding these peculiar installers.
This leaves me wondering: should I be concerned about these unknown programs? Is it possible that my old laptop’s problems have made their way to my new one?
If anyone has experienced something similar or can offer insight, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
