As I stand on the verge of welcoming my little one into the world, life has thrown me a curveball that I’m struggling to handle. With just two months left until my due date, I found myself in the midst of a WiFi crisis that sent me into a spiral of frustration. If you’ve ever been in a similar situation, I think you’ll relate to my recent experience.

My apartment complex is equipped with hard-wired internet connections for all units, but after switching Internet Service Providers (ISPs), my WiFi mysteriously stopped working. Although my network appeared to be up and running, my devices were showing no internet access. This was the last thing I needed during this hectic time.

Desperate for a solution, I reached out to my landlord, who provided some technical advice involving router software. However, as someone who is far from tech-savvy, I quickly felt overwhelmed by the process—and honestly, it felt like my efforts were only complicating matters further. To add to the stress, my husband usually handled these technological challenges, but he’s been out of the picture since our separation a couple of months ago.

Feeling overwhelmed and on the brink of a meltdown, I desperately sought help.

And then, the turning point:

In a stroke of luck, my landlord took me down to the basement of the building. It turned out that the ISP installers had disconnected several cords—some of which were critical for my own apartment’s internet service. Once we reconnected everything, the issue was resolved, and I could finally return to my digital world.

This experience taught me a few valuable lessons about problem-solving and the importance of reaching out for help when times get tough.
