Troubleshooting a Non-Responsive Nvidia 3060 GPU in Your Windows Laptop
As an IT professional, encountering technical issues can often be a perplexing experience. Recently, I purchased a used laptop equipped with an Nvidia 3060 graphics card from my company, which performed flawlessly for two weeks. However, it suddenly stopped functioning just a few days ago, leaving me stumped and in search of solutions.
In my initial attempts to resolve the problem, I have taken a variety of steps. I started with reinstalling the graphics drivers, ensuring that they were up to date, and even explored BIOS updates to see if that would rectify the situation. To further diagnose the issue, I rolled back the BIOS and Windows updates in hopes of uncovering the root cause. Despite these efforts, including uninstalling the drivers and reverting to older versions, the problem remained unresolved.
One intriguing detail is that the GPU is recognized in the Device Manager, indicating that the system can detect its presence. Yet, it appears to be unacknowledged by other software applications, which is quite puzzling.
If anyone has experienced similar issues or has insights on potential solutions, I would greatly appreciate your input. Whether it’s a matter of specific settings or further troubleshooting steps, any advice you can share would be invaluable as I navigate this technical challenge. Thank you!
