Troubleshooting a Feisty Nvidia 3060: Seeking Solutions
As an IT professional, encountering a tech issue can feel like a walk in the park—until it isn’t. I’ve recently purchased a used laptop equipped with an Nvidia 3060 graphics card, which initially performed admirably for a fortnight. However, things took a turn recently when the GPU stopped functioning as expected.
In an effort to restore its functionality, I have undertaken a series of troubleshooting steps. These included reinstalling the graphics drivers and updating the BIOS. I’ve also attempted to roll back both BIOS and Windows updates, uninstall the drivers, and revert to older versions. Even a complete Windows reinstallation didn’t yield the desired outcome, as I reverted to a previous version in hopes of resolving the issue.
Interestingly, the graphics card is still visible in the Device Manager; however, no other software seems to recognize its existence—a puzzling conundrum for anyone in tech.
I’m reaching out to the community for insights and suggestions. Have any of you experienced similar challenges with GPUs, and what solutions did you find effective? Your expertise and guidance would be greatly appreciated as I navigate this frustrating obstacle. Let’s crack this code together!
