Feeling Stumped: An IT Professional Struggling to Solve This Issue

Troubleshooting a Non-Functional Nvidia 3060 GPU: Seeking Solutions

As an IT professional, it’s never a good feeling when technology fails to perform as expected. Recently, I encountered a perplexing issue with a used laptop equipped with an Nvidia 3060 notebook GPU. This device worked flawlessly for two weeks, but then unexpectedly ceased to function.

In my attempts to resolve the problem, I’ve gone through a variety of troubleshooting steps. First, I reinstalled the graphics drivers and ensured that the BIOS was updated to the latest version. I also rolled back both BIOS and Windows updates, thinking that recent changes might have triggered the issue. Additionally, I uninstalled the GPU drivers and tried reverting to older versions without success. In a last-ditch effort, I even reinstalled Windows, trying both the latest version and an older one, yet none of these actions led to a resolution.

While the device manager recognizes the GPU without any issues, it seems that no other applications are able to identify it. This has led to a frustrating standstill in my efforts to restore the laptop’s functionality.

I’m reaching out to the community for insights or potential solutions—has anyone encountered a similar problem with their Nvidia 3060 GPU? Any advice or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated as I navigate this technical challenge.
