Troubleshooting GPU Issues: A Frustrated IT Professional Seeks Guidance
As an IT professional, I often take pride in my problem-solving skills. However, I’ve recently encountered a perplexing issue with a used laptop I purchased from my company. The device features an Nvidia 3060 notebook GPU, which performed flawlessly for the first two weeks. Suddenly, it has ceased to function, leaving me both puzzled and frustrated.
In my efforts to resolve this dilemma, I have attempted several troubleshooting methods. I started by reinstalling the graphics drivers and updating the BIOS, but to no avail. I also went through the motions of uninstalling the drivers, reverting to older versions, and even performing a complete Windows reinstall with a roll-back to a previous version. Unfortunately, none of these steps yielded a solution.
Interestingly, the GPU is visible in the Device Manager, indicating that the system recognizes it. However, no other applications can identify the card, which raises further questions.
I am reaching out to the community in hopes of gaining some insight. Has anyone else faced a similar issue with their GPU? Any suggestions or additional troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated! Your expertise could help me navigate this frustrating situation. Thank you in advance for any guidance you can provide.
