What Happens When a 5-Pound Dumbbell Drops on Our PC — Now It’s Running Slow

Dealing with a Computer Mishap: How a Dumbbell Accident Led to Technical Trouble

Recently, I encountered an unexpected dilemma involving my computer. A five-pound dumbbell accidentally fell onto my system unit, resulting in some noticeable performance issues. Prior to this unfortunate incident, my PC was operating seamlessly, so the sudden lag came as quite a surprise.

Upon inspection of the computer case, I noticed it was slightly dented, and the front panel was nearly dislodged. Although I’m not particularly adept with hardware, I decided to delve into the BIOS settings to see if I could troubleshoot the problem. Unfortunately, that had minimal effect, and I was left with many unanswered questions.

As I attempted to boot up the system, I encountered a recurring message that read “Operating System is missing.” This error was intermittent, and I found that cycling the power—turning the machine off and then back on—sometimes resolved the issue temporarily.

In my exploration within the BIOS, another alarming issue emerged. I discovered that the CPU temperature spiked to an astonishing 99 degrees Celsius, which is well beyond the acceptable range for safe operation.

I’ll continue to investigate these problems, but I wanted to share my experience in hopes that it might help others who might find themselves in a similar situation. If anyone has tips or insights on how to address these issues, your advice would be much appreciated!
