Resolving Mouse Lag Issues on a P51 Thinkpad: Finding Solutions Beyond Cortana
After spending over 50 hours tackling mouse lag issues on my new P51 Thinkpad, I finally made a significant breakthrough—removing Cortana resulted in a dramatic improvement, eliminating around 75% of the lag. However, I’m still grappling with that remaining 25% and am eager for more solutions.
The primary annoyance I face is the frustration of mouse stuttering that occurs while working with Flash-generated slides in Chrome. This problem is particularly troublesome, as my daily tasks involve extensive interactions within these slides. Despite my best efforts—uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, updating software, restoring the computer to factory settings—nothing has completely resolved the issue.
The stuttering manifests every 3 to 5 seconds when I move the mouse within the Flash slides, disrupting my workflow significantly. Interestingly, I’ve observed that reducing the size of the window or scaling down the slides can temporarily alleviate the lag, but these adjustments aren’t practical, as they compromise visibility and usability.
Since the removal of Cortana made a noticeable difference, I’m curious about other potential remedies. I’ve heard suggestions from different sources, and although I’ve put many of them into practice, the underlying issue persists, especially when the cursor interacts with the Flash content.
I’m reaching out to the community for advice—what other actions can I take to eliminate this remaining stutter? Any insights on settings adjustments, software modifications, or optimization techniques would be highly appreciated.
Update: I want to thank everyone who has contributed suggestions so far. I’ve tried a multitude of options, but the problem continues. To clarify, the mouse operates flawlessly outside the Flash slides; the stuttering only begins when interacting with the slides. This detail may help in diagnosing the issue. Thank you in advance for your support!
