Why does my monitor refuse to turn on after closing it with the button at night, only to start working again after two days of being unplugged?

Troubleshooting My Peculiar Monitor Issue: A Lesson Learned

I recently encountered a frustrating issue with my monitor, and I’m sure many of you can relate. Despite its overall functionality, I’ve been facing a peculiar situation when I turn it off using the power button at night. Come morning, the screen remains unresponsive. However, after leaving it unplugged for a couple of days, it miraculously comes back to life.

The Mystery Deepens

As of my last update on October 31st, I discovered that the monitor started working again after being unplugged for five days. This is now the fourth time I’ve dealt with this bizarre problem, leading to the conclusion that I won’t be using that power button at night anymore!

To provide a bit of context, I’ve had a great experience using this monitor otherwise. I completed Grand Theft Auto V without any issues, and I’ve ensured that the cable I’m using is functioning perfectly by testing it with another monitor. Even when I twisted and adjusted the connections, everything performed optimally.

Here’s the routine I’ve established: I power down the monitor with the button in the evening, and when I attempt to turn it on the next morning, it simply won’t respond. The power button seems to be in good condition, so why does it refuse to power on immediately after shutting down?

After a couple of attempts at this, I find myself resorting to a backup monitor, only to discover that after two days away from power, my original monitor is back to normal. This has occurred multiple times, and I can’t help but wonder what might be causing this issue.

I am genuinely thankful for the community support as so many others have shared similar experiences. It’s comforting to know that I’m not alone in grappling with this odd problem. After all, it’s an expensive Acer GD245HQ monitor, and I’d prefer to get to the bottom of this mystery rather than continue this cycle of uncertainty.

Potential Causes and Alternatives

Currently, I’m only using the power cable to troubleshoot, so I’ve ruled out any GPU issues. One possibility I’m considering is the presence of capacitors inside the monitor—could they be the source of this problem? If anyone has insights or advice on this matter, your input would be invaluable as I navigate this frustrating scenario.

If you’ve faced a similar challenge or have any troubleshooting tips, I invite you to share your thoughts in the comments.
