Urgent Tech Troubles: My PC’s Struggles After an Unexpected Incident
Recently, I encountered a frustrating situation with my computer that I hope to get some guidance on. A 5-pound dumbbell accidentally fell onto my system unit, resulting in noticeable performance issues. Before this mishap, my PC was functioning flawlessly, so the sudden lagging is quite concerning.
Upon inspecting the unit, I noticed a minor dent in the casing, and the front panel appeared to be on the verge of detaching. In my attempt to troubleshoot the issue, I accessed the BIOS; however, my understanding of the settings is quite limited, and I’m uncertain about the next steps.
Update on the Situation
After attempting to reboot the system, I encountered an alarming message indicating that the “Operating System is missing.” This error seems to happen sporadically, requiring me to power the PC off completely before it will restart. Additionally, when I check the BIOS settings, I observe that the CPU temperature spikes to an alarming 99 degrees Celsius, which raises further concerns about the condition of my hardware.
Given these developments, I am eager to hear any suggestions or insights from those who may have faced similar issues. Is it possible that the fall caused hardware damage? What steps should I take to diagnose and resolve these problems effectively? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
