Discovering an Unwanted IP Camera on Your Network: A Cautionary Tale

Today, I want to share my experience of discovering an unexpected intrusion in my home network: an IP camera that I suspect might be used for spying. While checking the list of devices connected to my router, I stumbled upon an unfamiliar IP camera. I managed to capture its IPv4 address and MAC address, which led me to investigate the situation further.
Upon researching the camera, I identified it as a Shenzhen model and turned to the website iSpyConnect for assistance in accessing the camera feed. However, my attempts to get the live stream up and running were unsuccessful.
Given the context, I have strong reasons to believe that my landlord may be using this camera to monitor my activities without my consent—an unsettling thought for anyone who values their privacy.
I’m reaching out to the community for guidance on how to access the feed or to learn more about how I can secure my network. Any advice you can provide would be invaluable during this concerning time.
Update: Progress and Resolution Efforts
I want to extend my gratitude to everyone who responded to my initial post with helpful information. I apologize for the delayed update; life got quite busy for me. After dedicating three fruitless days to various tools—Angry IP, Mapsomething, VLC, and a few others—to try and access the camera feed, I ultimately reached a point of frustration.
The situation prompted me to take a more decisive action: I blocked the suspicious camera from my network. Though I plan to re-enable it at some stage to locate its physical presence in my home, I intend to do so methodically. I will systematically shut off the power in different areas of my house, keeping an eye out for potential camera placement.
Additionally, I have a trick up my sleeve involving an infrared phone camera, which I will use to scan for any hidden devices that may be lurking in my living space.
