Unusual Experience: My PC Started Typing Sentences to Me – I Need Assistance

Unexplained Keyboard Behavior: Seeking Guidance on a Worrying Incident

Recently, I experienced a bizarre issue with my PC while gaming that left me both puzzled and concerned. While playing Battlefield 4 and attempting to record gameplay footage using NVIDIA’s features, I stumbled on a key combination that typically saves my recordings. However, shortly thereafter, my computer began behaving strangely, seemingly typing on its own.

To illustrate the situation, the in-game chat abruptly opened, and a message, “amr admin,” appeared—causing me to panic and exit the game. I’m not sure if I opened Chrome, but upon launching it, I was astonished to see actual sentences being typed into the search bar. I tried pressing different keys to interrupt this strange occurrence, but the text continued to materialize, including phrases like “use thea hze li again?” and “deah but now I might not be able ti do much :^_.”

In a state of alarm, I immediately ran an anti-malware scan using Malwarebytes, which revealed no threats. Attempting to leave Battlefield resulted in my character being reconnected to the server repeatedly, while my mouse began to flicker uncontrollably. The only solution was to reboot my PC.

In search of clarity, I reviewed my keyboard settings and macros but found no issues. Unfortunately, a search online yielded little help, leaving me frustrated and scared. I haven’t downloaded any new software in the last two weeks, raising my concerns about whether this was a sign of malware or a peculiar hardware glitch.

Now, I am debating performing a complete wipe of my PC, but I am hesitant due to important files that I have not backed up. I wonder if anyone else has experienced similar phenomena and what steps I should take moving forward. Is my system compromised? What actions should I consider?

Updates from My Investigation

Edit 1: After further testing, I was unable to replicate the strange typing, even when performing the same key combinations.

Edit 2: I appreciate the support from everyone. I checked my macros and followed suggestions to look for any active connections, but nothing appeared. To be on the safe side, I decided to completely wipe my PC. I plan to run more tests after the reset to see if the issue resurfaces.

Edit 3: Thank you once more for your advice and kindness. Many have proposed that this could have been caused by a macro, although I didn’t recognize
