Troubleshooting a Peculiar Computer Glitch: My Journey to Resolution
This past week has been a challenging one for me as I navigated a frustrating issue with my computer that left me feeling powerless and confused. After noticing my system was consistently copying random items without any input from me, I knew I had to take action.
Initially, the strange behavior began yesterday, and I immediately attempted to rectify the situation by restarting my computer multiple times. The issue would temporarily resolve itself for a few minutes, only to return with a vengeance. Despite resetting my computer and uninstalling drivers, the problem persisted. In an effort to rule out the keyboard as the culprit, I unplugged the original keyboard and replaced it with another, but to no avail.
The Discovery
To provide some context, I had recently downloaded a program called Radiant Viewer, which is designed for medical file viewing, specifically DICOM files. I also transferred some files from a USB drive given to me by my professor. Coincidentally, shortly after this, my desktop began malfunctioning in unusual ways. Adding to the intrigue, I installed the same software on my laptop, and, lo and behold, it started exhibiting the same erratic behavior.
In my desperation, I decided to document the glitches, capturing video evidence of the chaos on my screens. You can view the bizarre behavior in the following links:

Investigating the Issue
After further investigation, I concluded that the USB drive was likely the source of the problem. After performing a full reset and formatting the drive, my computer seemed to be back to normal—at least until I reinserted the USB, which promptly sent everything back into disarray.
Despite performing a factory reset that momentarily brought relief, I soon faced the same problems again. While some helpful individuals suggested various malware detection programs, none were effective in uncovering anything unusual. A clean wipe seemed to be the next logical step.
The Twists and Turns
In a bizarre turn of events, I discovered that the same glitch manifested on an old laptop I was using for schoolwork, even though the USB drive hadn’t come into contact with it. The only peripherals connected were
