TikTok is back on the Play Store… but my Pixel still won’t let me download it?

TikTok’s Return to the Play Store: A Frustrating Download Experience on Pixel Devices

Recently, it was announced that TikTok has made its much-anticipated comeback to the Google Play Store. Excited to dive back into the popular app, I rushed to download it on my Pixel phone, only to be met with an unexpected obstacle.

Upon trying to install TikTok, I encountered a perplexing error message: “Something went wrong. Try again.” Naturally, I didn’t stop there. I took the usual troubleshooting steps including rebooting my device, clearing the cache for the Play Store, and even switching to a different Google account. Unfortunately, none of these efforts yielded success.

Interestingly, my Play Protect settings are activated, and no explicit warnings have popped up. This leaves me wondering: are there others out there using Android devices who are facing similar difficulties when attempting to download TikTok?
