Denon DN-V200 / DN-V300 DVD player region code change procedure

How to Change the Region Code on Your Denon DN-V200 / DN-V300 DVD Player

If you own a Denon DN-V200 or DN-V300 DVD player and need to modify its region code—perhaps to play DVDs from different regions—this guide provides a clear, step-by-step procedure. Changing your player’s region code can be particularly useful if you travel frequently or have access to DVDs from multiple regions. Please follow these instructions carefully to ensure proper configuration.

Understanding Region Coding

DVD players and discs are typically encoded with regional restrictions to control playback across different geographic areas. The Denon DN-V200 and DN-V300 models are often set to a specific region—commonly Region 0 (all regions) or others like PAL zones—depending on your setup. Adjusting the region code involves entering a special test mode through a sequence of remote control commands.

Step-by-Step Procedure for Setting the Player to Region 0 (PAL Zone)

Prerequisites:
– Make sure your DVD player is plugged in and turned on.
– Use the remote control for all commands.
– Keep the disc tray open during the process.

Note: Always use caution when entering test modes or changing system settings. Proceed at your own risk.

Instructions:

  1. Power On the Player
From the standby state, turn the DVD player on using the remote control.

  2. Open the Disc Tray
Press the “OPEN/CLOSE” button on the remote to open the tray. Keep the tray open during the configuration process.

  3. Enter Test Mode

  4. Press the sequence: CLEAR
  5. Followed by: 1 (the number one key)
  6. Then: "4" (the number four key)
  7. Then: "7" (the number seven key)
  8. Then: "0" (the number zero key)
  9. Finish with: CLEAR

The player should automatically enter test mode after this sequence.

  1. Navigate to Region Settings
  2. Press the “UP” button. The display should show "00".
  3. Press the “UP” button again; now set the value to "01".

  4. Set the Region Code for PAL Zone (Region 0)

  5. For Region 0 (PAL), set the code to **”12 33
