Seeking Guidance: Help with an Unwelcome Laptop Display Issue

As a recent graduate, receiving a second-hand HP Zhan 99 G1 laptop from my dad as a graduation gift earlier this year was a delightful surprise. It served me well until recently, when, out of nowhere, I encountered a perplexing display issue.

One morning, I powered up my laptop only to be greeted by an unsettling sight: the screen was obscured by vivid pink and green hues. This strange phenomenon was completely absent the night before. Now, two weeks have passed, and the colorful chaos persists, leaving me puzzled and in need of assistance.

I find myself wondering what could possibly be causing this malfunction. Is it a sign of hardware failure, a graphics card issue, or perhaps a display problem? Additionally, I’m concerned about the potential cost involved in repairing it.
