PC wouldn’t boot without power cycle

Troubleshooting Power Issues: Why My PC Required a Power Cycle After Outage

Recently, I returned home from work to discover that my home experienced a power outage. Upon restoring power, I attempted to turn my PC back on, a habit I’ve grown accustomed to as I often leave it running for various tasks. However, this time, an unsettling situation unfolded. The fans whirred to life, and a red light on the motherboard illuminated, but the system failed to boot.

Feeling a sense of unease, I powered down the PC and toggled the power supply unit (PSU) switch. Fortunately, after this power cycle, the system started up without any trouble.

This experience left me wondering—is this a common occurrence? In the past, I haven’t had to take such steps after power outages, and it raises concerns about potential damage.

If you’ve encountered similar issues or have insights into power management and PC functionality after outages, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Understanding whether this is a one-time glitch or a sign of underlying problems is essential for maintaining the longevity of my machine.
