Data Recovery Dilemma: Seeking Help with DiskWarrior for SSD Restoration

I’ve recently encountered a significant challenge while working with my M1 computer and a Samsung T5 EVO Portable SSD, which has a substantial capacity of 8TB. During routine maintenance, the Samsung Magician Software prompted me to update the firmware. After completing the update, I was instructed to restart my device. However, I encountered an error message stating that the SSD was preventing the restart. In a moment of rashness, I disconnected the USB-C connection from the SSD and proceeded to reboot.

Upon restarting, I was met with a disheartening notification: “The disk you attached was not readable by this computer.” In my attempt to salvage the situation, I turned to Disk Drill for recovery. While it did manage to retrieve some of my data, it organized the files by type and altered their original names, making it a daunting task to sift through and restore everything manually.

In my search for additional recovery tools, I came across DiskWarrior, which seemed to offer better prospects for my needs. After reaching out to their Tech Support, I was informed that this Software could restore both the original folder hierarchy and file names—features that would greatly simplify my recovery process.

Before I make a decision, I’d like to hear from anyone who has experience with DiskWarrior. Can it truly deliver on its promises? My last comprehensive backup was back in January, and while I have other versions of completed songs on a different storage device, the missing project files that I need right now are solely located on the problematic SSD.

Though I could choose to reformat the 8TB SSD and transfer my data over, I’m reluctant to lose those stems and project files. If you have insights or testimonials regarding DiskWarrior’s effectiveness, I’d greatly appreciate your input. Thank you!
