Ah yes! Just a bit of air space.

Efficient Shipping: A Recent Experience with International Orders

Last Friday, I placed an order for two components from Poland, and to my surprise, they arrived just yesterday—Wednesday. This 4-day transit time is quite impressive compared to many domestic delivery services I typically encounter.

The total cost for the parts was £6, with an added postage fee of £12. Initially, I thought the shipping charges seemed high, but upon examining the packaging, I began to understand the rationale behind them. The box had a considerable amount of empty space, which made me question the efficiency of the packing process. Additionally, I noticed that the items weren’t protected with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) packaging, which is critical for sensitive electronic components.

Interestingly, when I received the package, it had clearly been inspected by border control—something I’ve never experienced before with previous orders. This particular shipment was also sealed with tape that seemed dubious at best, lacking the stickiness needed to keep the contents secure.

All in all, while I appreciate the timely delivery, the packaging and handling left something to be desired. It’s a reminder of how crucial proper packaging and shipping practices are, especially when dealing with international orders.
