Seeking a User-Friendly Free Alternative to Windows Defender
Hello, fellow tech enthusiasts!
If you’re like me and have encountered frustrations with Windows Defender, you might be on the lookout for a more user-friendly antivirus solution. Recently, I had a rather challenging experience when Windows Defender took it upon itself to delete files from my Network Attached Storage (NAS) without prior notice.
After an hour of trying to restore those files, I found myself baffled by the lack of options to either revert the deletion or choose a different location for restoration. Unfortunately, there were no prompts or error messages, leaving me to navigate the command line to find a solution.
This led me to question the necessity of an antivirus program that doesn’t simply act on its own accord, especially when it comes to false positives. Surely there’s a lightweight, free antivirus option out there that prioritizes user control and provides notifications before taking action?
I would love to gather insights from this community. Has anyone found a reliable, free antivirus alternative that doesn’t treat its users like they don’t know what they’re doing? Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Let’s share our experiences and help each other find a suitable solution.
Looking forward to your recommendations!
