Troubleshooting Nvidia 3060 Issues on a Used Laptop: An IT Professional’s Dilemma
As an IT professional, I often find myself solving a myriad of technical issues. However, I recently encountered a perplexing problem that has left me scratching my head.
After purchasing a used laptop equipped with an Nvidia 3060 GPU from my workplace, I was pleased to find it functioning perfectly for the first two weeks. Unfortunately, that all changed a few days ago when the graphics card suddenly stopped working.
In my attempts to resolve the issue, I have undertaken a number of troubleshooting steps. I’ve reinstalled the latest drivers, updated the BIOS, and even rolled back to previous versions of both the BIOS and Windows updates. I also tried uninstalling the drivers entirely to revert to older versions, and attempted a complete Windows reinstall, which also included reverting to an earlier version of the operating system.
Despite these efforts, the device manager recognizes the graphics card without any issues. However, it’s not being recognized by any other software, which has led me to seek further advice from the tech community.
