Troubleshooting a Non-Responsive Nvidia 3060 GPU: A Tech Dilemma

As an IT professional, encountering hardware issues can often feel overwhelming, especially when you’ve already exhausted numerous troubleshooting avenues. I recently faced a puzzling situation with a used laptop that I purchased from my previous employer. Equipped with an Nvidia 3060 notebook GPU, this machine was functioning flawlessly for two weeks, but then abruptly stopped recognizing the graphics card.

To resolve the issue, I implemented several strategies. Initially, I reinstalled the GPU drivers, hoping to correct any software conflicts. I also performed BIOS updates and even reverted both my BIOS and Windows to earlier versions, expecting these measures would restore functionality. An additional approach was to uninstall the drivers completely before reinstalling older versions to see if compatibility was the problem. Ultimately, I opted for a complete Windows reinstall, along with a downgrade to a previous version.

Despite the fact that the graphics card appears correctly in Device Manager, it remains unrecognized by various programs, which raises further questions. I’m reaching out to the community in hopes of discovering some innovative solutions or insights. If anyone has faced a similar situation or can provide guidance on additional steps to take, your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
