Troubleshooting a Non-Functional Nvidia 3060 GPU on a Used Laptop

As an IT professional, encountering a technical roadblock can be incredibly frustrating, especially when you’re tasked with resolving issues for your own devices. Recently, I acquired a used laptop from my company, equipped with an Nvidia 3060 notebook GPU that functioned seamlessly for two weeks. However, a few days ago, it unexpectedly stopped working, and I find myself in search of solutions.

In my efforts to restore functionality, I have undertaken several troubleshooting steps. Initially, I reinstalled the GPU drivers, followed by applying the latest BIOS updates to see if that would make a difference. Still, no luck. I even attempted to revert to previous BIOS and Windows updates, thinking it might resolve any compatibility issues.

In my quest for restoration, I also uninstalled the drivers completely only to revert to earlier versions, hoping that one of those might be the key. As a last resort, I performed a full reinstallation of Windows, once again trying older versions in hopes of a miracle.

Interestingly, while the device manager recognizes the GPU without issue, it appears to be unrecognized by various software applications. This leads me to wonder—has anyone else experienced a similar problem? If you have insights or suggestions on additional steps I could take, your expertise would be greatly appreciated. Any guidance on troubleshooting or potential fixes would be immensely helpful as I navigate this challenge.
