Troubleshooting a Pesky GPU Issue: Seeking Solutions for a Malfunctioning Nvidia 3060
As someone well-versed in IT, it can be incredibly frustrating when a seemingly functional piece of hardware suddenly encounters issues. Recently, I acquired a used laptop equipped with an Nvidia 3060 GPU from my previous workplace. For a period of two weeks, everything was functioning without a hitch. However, just a few days ago, the GPU ceased to work, leaving me at a loss.
In my attempts to resolve the issue, I have taken several steps that I thought might rectify the situation. Firstly, I reinstalled the graphics drivers, hoping that would restore proper functionality. Following that, I performed a BIOS update and even reverted both BIOS and Windows updates to see if that would help. I also tried uninstalling the drivers completely, only to reinstall older versions to see if there was a compatibility problem.
Despite these efforts, I still encountered no success. The GPU is recognized in Device Manager, but it remains unacknowledged by any other software. This issue has stumped me, and I’m reaching out to the community for assistance.
If anyone has experienced a similar predicament or has insights into potential solutions, your guidance would be immensely appreciated. Let’s collaborate to resolve this frustrating GPU conundrum!
