Troubleshooting GPU Issues: My Nvidia 3060 Dilemma
As a professional in the IT field, encountering unexpected technical hurdles is part of the job. Recently, I faced a perplexing situation with a used laptop I purchased from my workplace. This machine came equipped with an Nvidia 3060 notebook GPU, which had been functioning smoothly for a couple of weeks. However, it suddenly ceased working just a few days ago.
In my quest to resolve this problem, I’ve undertaken several troubleshooting steps. I went ahead and reinstalled the graphics drivers, performed BIOS updates, and even tried reverting to earlier BIOS and Windows versions. I also uninstalled the drivers completely and attempted to restore previous versions, along with reinstalling Windows to an older build.
Interestingly, while the GPU appears in the Device Manager without any issues, it is not being recognized by any other software on the machine. This leaves me at a standstill, as I’m unsure of the next steps to take.
Have any fellow tech enthusiasts encountered a similar issue or have ideas on how to proceed? Your insights would be greatly appreciated!
