Assistance Needed: Worried About Potential Virus or Miner on My Device

Concerned About Potential Malware: How to Spot a Virus on Your Laptop

Hello everyone,

I’m reaching out because I have some serious concerns regarding the health of my laptop, and I could really use your expertise. Recently, I’ve observed some unusual activity that’s making me think there might be a virus or maybe even a mining tool running in the background.

When my laptop’s screen is off, I’ve noticed that the fans start to run at high speeds, and both the CPU temperature and utilization shoot up significantly. This behavior is accompanied by sudden spikes in the Task Manager that I can’t quite explain.

To tackle this issue, I’ve taken some proactive measures. I’ve conducted thorough scans using several reputable security tools, including Malwarebytes, HitmanPro, and the ESET online scanner. Unfortunately, none of these scans detected any threats. In addition, I recently reset my PC after wiping all data, but the problem still persists.

At this point, I’m wondering if this could indeed be malware, or if it might be related to a certain Windows process that activates while my computer is idle. If anyone has experienced something similar or has insights on tracking down the root of this issue, I would greatly appreciate your guidance.

Thanks in advance for your help!
