Asus H610M-E D4 + i5-12600K turns on but won’t boot to BIOS

Troubleshooting Boot Issues: Asus H610M-E D4 with Intel i5-12600K

Building a new computer can be an exciting venture, but encountering boot issues can be frustrating. Recently, I faced a challenge with my setup that I’d like to share in hopes of getting some insights.

The Setup

My system includes:
Motherboard: Asus H610M-E D4
Processor: Intel i5-12600K
RAM: 16GB DDR4 at 2666 MHz
Cooler: Eclipse CPU Cooler

Despite carefully assembling the hardware, I ran into a significant issue: my computer powers on, but it doesn’t boot to BIOS. Although I recognize that the i5-12600K is a high-performance CPU for this motherboard, I expected at least to access the BIOS.

Steps I’ve Taken

To resolve the issue, I’ve tried several troubleshooting steps:

  1. Power Supply Unit (PSU): I tested a different PSU to rule out power issues.
  2. Graphics Card: I installed a dedicated GPU, hoping it would provide a display signal.
  3. DIMM Slots: I experimented with both DIMM slots for the RAM.
  4. Cooling Solutions: I replaced the cooler, just in case it was affecting the CPU’s performance.
  5. CMOS Reset: I cleared the CMOS and replaced the CMOS battery, but without success.
  6. Storage Configuration: I booted the system with and without the M.2 drive that has Windows 10 installed, yet there were no differences.
  7. Display Connections: I have tried all video outputs (VGA, DP, and HDMI), but none displayed any readings.

Request for Assistance

I’m reaching out to the community for guidance. If anyone has experienced similar issues or has suggestions on what I might try next, I would greatly appreciate your insights. Your expertise could make a significant difference in getting this build up and running. Thank you!
