At 17, I Dropped $3,500 on a PC and Now I Think I’ve Destroyed It

My First PC Build Experience: Overclocking Gone Wrong

Hello, fellow tech enthusiasts! I recently took a significant leap into the world of PC building, investing around $3,500 in a new setup. As an eager 17-year-old, I was excited to push the boundaries of my Ryzen 3900X processor and unlock its full potential through overclocking. However, things took a frustrating turn, and I could use some assistance.

I assembled my build using an Asus ROG Crosshair Hero VIII WiFi motherboard, which I had read great things about. Eager to enhance my PC’s performance, I attempted to overclock not only my CPU but also my RAM, which was currently running at a modest 2666MHz despite its capabilities of reaching 4000MHz. Unfortunately, my enthusiasm quickly turned to panic when I faced an error code 07, which has completely locked me out of the BIOS.

In an attempt to rectify the situation, I removed the CMOS battery and reinserted it, but to no avail. I’m at a standstill here and feeling genuinely overwhelmed by the experience. If anyone has insights or advice on how to troubleshoot this issue or experiences they can share, I would greatly appreciate your help. Your tips could save my precious investment and help me avoid a complete disaster.

Thanks in advance for your support!
