At a lost, I’m an IT guy and I can’t figure this out…

Troubleshooting a NVIDIA 3060 GPU: A Journey from Confusion to Clarity

As an IT professional, it can be disheartening to face challenges that seem insurmountable. Recently, I encountered a frustrating situation after purchasing a pre-owned laptop equipped with an NVIDIA 3060 GPU from my company. For the first two weeks, everything was functioning perfectly—until it suddenly stopped working.

Initially, this unexpected failure left me puzzled and searching for solutions. To resolve the issue, I methodically tried several troubleshooting steps. I began by reinstalling the graphics drivers, checking for any available BIOS updates, and even experimenting with rolling back both BIOS and Windows updates. When these attempts did not yield any improvements, I decided to uninstall the drivers entirely, reverting to older versions in hopes of restoring functionality. Ultimately, I went so far as to reinstall Windows and tried reverting to a previous version.

Despite these efforts, I was met with continued frustration. The GPU was recognized in the device manager, which is usually a good sign, but any Software I attempted to use failed to acknowledge it.

If anyone has insights or additional suggestions on how to approach this situation, I would greatly appreciate your input. As IT professionals, we understand that even the most reliable technology can sometimes lead us down unexpected paths.

Together, let’s troubleshoot this enigma to uncover the solution!
