Troubleshooting a Non-Responsive Nvidia 3060 GPU: Seeking Solutions
As an IT professional, I often pride myself on my ability to troubleshoot common tech issues. However, I recently encountered a perplexing problem that even I am struggling to fix. I purchased a used laptop equipped with an Nvidia 3060 notebook GPU from my company, and for the first two weeks, everything was working seamlessly. Unfortunately, just a few days ago, the GPU unexpectedly stopped functioning.
In my effort to resolve the issue, I’ve taken several steps that typically help in situations like these. I’ve reinstalled the drivers and conducted BIOS updates, only to revert back to previous BIOS and Windows updates when those didn’t yield results. Additionally, I attempted to uninstall the drivers completely, then rolled back to older versions of the drivers to see if that could bring it back to life. As a last resort, I even reinstalled Windows and returned to an earlier version of the operating system.
Despite these extensive efforts, the graphics card still appears in the Device Manager without any issues. However, it remains unrecognized by any other Software applications that rely on it for performance—a frustrating dead end.
I’m reaching out to the community for insights or alternative troubleshooting techniques you might suggest. Has anyone experienced similar problems, and if so, what solutions have proven effective? Any tips or guidance would be greatly appreciated as I navigate this challenging situation. Thank you in advance for your help!
