Troubleshooting a Non-Responsive Nvidia 3060 GPU: Seeking Solutions
As an IT professional, it’s quite disconcerting when technology that has been functioning seamlessly suddenly encounters an issue. Recently, I purchased a used laptop equipped with an Nvidia 3060 graphics card from my previous company, and for the first two weeks, everything was operating smoothly. However, I was met with a frustrating setback when the GPU stopped functioning altogether just a few days ago.
In an effort to diagnose the problem, I’ve taken a series of steps that I hoped would restore functionality. I began by reinstalling the graphics drivers and even performed updates to the BIOS. When these measures did not yield results, I attempted to revert both the BIOS and Windows updates. I also experimented with uninstalling and then reinstalling the drivers, including rolling back to older versions. As a last resort, I reinstalled Windows altogether and even reverted to a previous version of the operating system.
Despite these extensive troubleshooting efforts, the device manager recognizes the graphics card without issue. However, it appears that the GPU is not being acknowledged by any Software applications, which is perplexing.
I am reaching out to the community in hopes of gaining some insight or alternative troubleshooting measures. Has anyone experienced a similar situation with their Nvidia GPUs? Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I continue to unravel this mystery. Your expertise could help shine a light on this stubborn issue!
