Device is infected and antivirus isn’t doing anything

Resolving Persistent malware Issues: A Personal Experience

Recently, I encountered a frustrating issue involving my computer’s security that many users may relate to—a device infection that seemingly eluded all attempts at eradication.

After lending my external hard drive to a friend, I began receiving persistent notifications from Windows Defender, indicating a possible infection. Concerned, I took immediate action by installing Malwarebytes, a reputable anti-malware solution. Unfortunately, my efforts were thwarted when the malware appeared to delete Malwarebytes from my system altogether.

Undeterred, I turned to Kaspersky’s Rescue Disk, a powerful tool designed for offline scanning and removal of malware. Upon running the rescue disk, it detected numerous threats on my device. However, after rebooting into Windows, I was disheartened to find that the same issues resurfaced— the malware was still very much present.

This experience highlights the challenges many users face in dealing with stubborn infections. While there are several tools available, not all methods are foolproof. Persistence is key in such situations.

Stay tuned for further updates as I explore additional strategies to resolve this ongoing issue. If you’ve experienced similar challenges or have any advice, I would love to hear your suggestions in the comments below!
