Discussing with my VP of Global Services, and they’re revealing things openly—here’s the scoop

Navigating the Landscape of Cost-Driven Hiring Practices

Recently, I found myself in a rather revealing conversation with the Vice President of Global Services at my organization. What struck me most was the candidness with which they addressed our hiring strategies. It appears that the search for talent is not only about finding the lowest-cost candidates to fill open positions; it also extends to identifying countries with the most lax labor protection laws.

This approach raises significant concerns about team morale and the long-term implications on our workplace culture. When discussions shift towards such cost-centric hiring practices, it can create a palpable sense of unease among employees who value ethics and fairness in the workplace.

I am curious if others have experienced similar conversations within their own organizations. As for me, I am fortunate to be heading into my final week at my current job, with hopes of finding a more reputable environment that aligns with my values.

The evolution of hiring practices is clearly influenced by economic factors, but organizations must also remember the human element that ultimately drives success. Engaging in transparent and ethical hiring should be a priority as we navigate these challenging times.
